Taking place in February 2009, the Cybersocket Web Awards is the only event of its kind to honor the best LGBT websites. Each year, outstanding websites are recognized for their achievements in both “Surfer Choice” categories and “Industry Choice” categories. We feel that it is essential to honor these individuals and companies as being technological entrepreneurs, important agents of free expression and cultural change, and innovators in queer online media and entertainment.

Unless you live in a cave you know that the California Supreme Court recently decided to overturn the statewide ban on gay marriage – virtually giving gays in California the green light to tie the knot! Gov. Schwarzenegger is polling for your reaction to the Court’s decision. So far he has supported the Court’s decision and his continued support is crucial to helping us defeat the proposed amendment to the California Constitution that would ban gay marriage. Please take a minute to call the governor’s office and let him know that you support the court’s decision (especially if you are a California resident).

Attention all registered California voters – your phone calls can save the future of porn in California! Please take a moment to call California State Representative Fiona Ma to urge her to oppose AB 2914, a proposed Bill that if passed would place an additional 8% tax on adult entertainment. We’ve all done it here at Hot House and it’s really easy – just call Fiona Ma’s office at 916.319.2021. Tell the person who answers that you want Fiona to vote “NO” on AB 2914. They will ask you for your name and address, so you must be a California resident.
