The most popular event of the weekend happened yesterday South Of Market in San Francisco.  The Up Your Alley Fair witnessed the busiest fair in it’s twenty-five year run.  The fetish-oriented fair brought out people of all types including local Hot House Exclusive Ethan Wolfe, model turned Manhunt director Caesar, Scott Tanner, Industry giants Steven Scarborough, Brent Smith and Chi Chi LaRue, industry photographers Mocha and Jim McGhee as well as local celebrities like Sister Roma and gay comic Ali Mafi.  Check out some of the images from all the weekend parties below.

History of the Up Your Alley Street Fair:
The first Up Your Alley Street Fair was held in 1985 on Ringold Street between 8th and 9th Streets (and it was known as the “Ringold Alley Fair”). The event was moved to its current location on Folsom Street at Dore Street in 1987. Among the original rationales for this fair was to illustrate, in the face of redevelopment pressures, that the South of Market neighborhood was already home to a community and that this community was still active and organized in spite of the AIDS epidemic.

Run by the same non-profit organization that produces the much larger Folsom Street Fair, the world’s largest BDSM fetish and leather event, Up Your Alley Fair draws several thousand fetish enthusiasts and onlookers and serves not only as a “warm-up” event for the organizers but also as a less tourist-focused event for locals. This fair is one of many large neighborhood street fairs San Francisco has weekly towards the end of summer, ending with the Castro Street Fair the first weekend of October.

This week San Francisco Pride promises a series of parties, dances, bashes and other events that cater to the LGBT community, all leading up to the main event: the Pride Parade on Sunday. As always the huge procession will roll right down the middle of Market Street, from the Embarcadero to Civic Center. After you’ve had your fill of entertainment on the main stage and visited the hundred or more vendor booths, shake your booty over to the Cat Club ( 1190 Folsom) for Trannyshack vs. Big Top! This over-the-top party brings together two of the city’s favorite parties, presented by two nightlife powerhouses, Heklina ( Trannyshack) and Joshua J. (Big Top).
