Grab Magazine announced the nominations today for this year’s 2013 Grabby Award Show in Chicago and Hot House nabbed an astonishing 18 nominations, just missing the most nominated studio category by 1. The annual show, held over Memorial Day Weekend, has moved to a new location this year, Center On Halsted, the GLBT Center in the heart of Boys Town and will once again be hosted by perennial favorites Chi Chi Larue and Honey West.

Roma’s friends and fans turned out in record-breaking numbers to vote online, electing her to lead the SF Pride Parade and appear on television, radio and at countless events as an official ambassador to Pride. Inconspicuous Art Director by day; raging drag queen, activist/fundraiser and party girl by night, Sister Roma is celebrating her 25th year with the notorious Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence. In that time she has been on the front lines in the war against HIV/AIDS, actively involved in raising $1 million for charity. Labor Day Weekend in New Orleans features some of the most brazen, brass, beautiful and brawny gay men in the country. Every year Southern Decadence takes over the famous French Quarter, filling the streets, restaurants, hotels, shops (and probably jails) with over 100,000 gay men, making Decadence one of the most infamous annual parties in the nation. As always, the event kicks off when Porn Directrix Chi Chi LaRue (her 13th year! and Hot House Art Director Sister Roma (her 2nd year) co-host the Big Dick Contest at the Bourbon Pub Parade. The handsome (and hung) winner of this year’s contest was chosen unanimously by cheers from the cock-hungry crowd that filled the Pub and fell out into the streets. The rest of the weekend was jam packed with visits to the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, the Marriott on Canal Street, The French Quarter’s quaint little rows of ornate shops and Cajun food. Special thanks to our friends down South Jonathan, Chuck, Persana, Poodle and this year’s Grand Marshal Paloma for making this one of the best years ever!

The most popular event of the weekend happened yesterday South Of Market in San Francisco.  The Up Your Alley Fair witnessed the busiest fair in it’s twenty-five year run.  The fetish-oriented fair brought out people of all types including local Hot House Exclusive Ethan Wolfe, model turned Manhunt director Caesar, Scott Tanner, Industry giants Steven Scarborough, Brent Smith and Chi Chi LaRue, industry photographers Mocha and Jim McGhee as well as local celebrities like Sister Roma and gay comic Ali Mafi.  Check out some of the images from all the weekend parties below.

The 2009 Grabby’s Lifetime Achievement Award honored Hot House founder and President Steven Scarborough last Saturday, May 23, 2009 in Chicago.  A stunned and slightly choked up Scarborough graciously accepted his award from Grabby organizers Mark Nagel and Stacey Bridges.  After complimenting the Hot House staff for keeping the award a secret he went on to praise his industry family, recognizing long-standing relationships with such people as Falcon Studios founder Chuck Holmes, Chi Chi LaRue, John Rutherford, Chris Ward and Kent Taylor.
