Southern Decadence Report: Hot & Sweaty Men New Orleans Style!

Filed under: News on September 10, 2009 at 5:42 pm

Labor Day Weekend in New Orleans features some of the most brazen, brass, beautiful and brawny gay men in the country. Every year Southern Decadence takes over the famous French Quarter, filling the streets, restaurants, hotels, shops (and probably jails) with over 100,000 gay men, making Decadence one of the most infamous annual parties in the nation. As always, the event kicks off when Porn Directrix Chi Chi LaRue (her 13th year! and Hot House Art Director Sister Roma (her 2nd year) co-host the Big Dick Contest at the Bourbon Pub Parade. The handsome (and hung) winner of this year’s contest was chosen unanimously by cheers from the cock-hungry crowd that filled the Pub and fell out into the streets. The rest of the weekend was jam packed with visits to the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, the Marriott on Canal Street, The French Quarter’s quaint little rows of ornate shops and Cajun food. Special thanks to our friends down South Jonathan, Chuck, Persana, Poodle and this year’s Grand Marshal Paloma for making this one of the best years ever!

Not Even Hurricane Gustav Could Stop The Big Dick Contest From Happening In New Orleans

Hurricane Gustav gave us a run for our money but not before Hot House’s very own Sister Roma and her posse invaded New Orleans Southern Decadence to host the Big Dick Contest at The Bourbon Pub/Parade.  The contest, that is usually hosted by the Queen of Porn Chi Chi LaRue, signaled the start to a tumultuous and decadent weekend.  Hot House DVDs were flying into the audience by the gorgeous go-go boys and Sister Roma sending the whole bar into a frenzy with people crawling over one another to get the most coveted prize of the night.  Our three days in Louisiana felt more like a month after we were asked to evacuate our plush Bourbon Orleans Hotel room for the cold hard floor of the airport in hopes of getting a flight home. Luckily enough, Sister Roma and crew were able to secure travel and beat the storm which has now more or less landed in the heart of New Orleans.
