Grab Magazine announced the nominations today for this year’s 2013 Grabby Award Show in Chicago and Hot House nabbed an astonishing 18 nominations, just missing the most nominated studio category by 1. The annual show, held over Memorial Day Weekend, has moved to a new location this year, Center On Halsted, the GLBT Center in the heart of Boys Town and will once again be hosted by perennial favorites Chi Chi Larue and Honey West.

Hot House is pleased to be a partner this weekend with GayHotMovies as part of their promotional efforts in the 2013 GLBT EXPO in NYC. Fans attending the 20th anniversary event can expect plenty of face time with Trenton Ducati and Jimmy Durano, two of the biggest stars in the industry, plus Hot House director Christian Owen at the GayHotMovies booth from noon to 6 p.m. The Expo takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (38th St. & 11th Ave.) and showcases plenty of gay and gay-friendly businesses (like GayHotMovies) and celebrities (like Project Runway’s Jack Mackenroth, former NFL football player Wade Davis, plus downtown darlings Amanda Lepore and Peppermint.) Tickets are only $17 and we can only hope that a proceed from the sale of tickets will go to pay for a redesign to the most awful website live on the internet today.

2012 has been quite a year for Christian Owen! As Hot House Director of Production Christian runs a very tight ship overseeing the entire production department where he wears many hats. Not only does Christian direct the movies, he casts them, designs the sets, and often runs the camera. In addition to that, he is responsible for all the behind-the-scenes tasks including scouting locations, booking travel arrangements, budgeting, and managing his top-notch production team. This year Christian has directed some amazing hits including the Hot House blockbusters Sektor 9, Kiss Lick Suck Fuck, and The Dom as well as the Club Inferno hits Take The Plunge, Wrecking Crew and Punch In Punch Out, to name a few. In recognition of his hard work and excellence Christian was named into the Grabby Wall of Fame this year at the annual Grabby Awards! Christian’s birthday is Sunday, December 9! Hot House won top honors at the Cybersocket Awards and the XBiz Awards this week! On Monday night at the Cybersocket Awards, Hot House President and Director Steven Scarborough walked away with the night’s highest honor:  The Cybersocket Wall Of Fame Award Of Excellence. Steven’s 25 year career in the gay adult entertainment industry remains unparalleled for his contribution to high quality content and outstanding practices, including being a pioneer in the condom-only policy still in practice today by most major studios.

On Tuesday night at the XBiz Awards Hot House was named Gay Site Of The Year, an honor recognizing the outstanding design and content of our online membership site HotHouse.com. Under the creative direction of Hot House VP/Creative Director Brent Smith, the new site launched at the beginning of 2011 featuring a clean bold layout with larger images, a bigger HD video player, and a logical, user-friendly interface.
